I read all your comments and I could associate with a lot of your sayings, especially when it comes to understanding my identity as a Jewish woman. I too use the website AskMoses and I find it great. I wanted to share a personal experience with you.
I lit up my first Shabbat candle 2 months ago, at the age of 26. I’m Jewish but I live a very secular life. I had no idea that lighting Shabbat candle could feel this way. Indeed, as I was reciting the blessing, I felt overwhelmed with a wonderful feeling of inner serenity and spiritual enhancement. Now each week, I look forward to lighting the candle and retrieving this feeling.
www.fridaylight.org is an amazing website that gave me the inspiration. I’m sure you’ll like it. Even if you already light the Shabbat candles, you should check it out and recommend it around you. It’s a wonderful resource for all Jewish women!
